Tony Raines No. 33 RoadLoans.com Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Daytona Preview

Team Report
NASCAR Busch Series Race 19 of 35 — Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway

CAMPING WORLD 200 RECAP:  In only his second ever NASCAR Busch Series start at the New Hampshire International Speedway, Tony Stewart had the car to keep him near the front of the 43-car field all day. Stewart qualified the No. 33 Old Spice Chevrolet in the 10th position, with a time of 29.766 seconds at 127.958 mph around the 1.058-mile track. Stewart, with the help from his pit crew, was able to contend for the win, before crossing the finish line in the fourth position. With another great run, Stewart was able to keep the No. 33 Kevin Harvick Inc. Chevrolet in contention for the 2007 NASCAR Busch Series Owner’s Point Championship.  The team currently sits in the fifth position, only 87 points behind the fourth-place car owner Richard Childress and the No. 21 Chevrolet.

WELCOME BACK TONY RAINES: Tony Raines returns to Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) and the NASCAR Busch Series (NBS) for the fifth time this season.  His last start came back at Dover (Del.) International Speedway, where he had one of the fastest cars. Raines, who started 28th, drove the No. 33 Camping World Chevrolet to an eighth place finish.

RESTRICTOR PLATE SUCCESS: KHI has had some great success at restrictor plate racing in the last few years.  KHI has combined for three wins to go along with six top-10 finishes.  The last win came earlier this year at the Talladega Superspeedway, where Bobby Labonte and Tony Stewart finished first and second respectively for KHI. This is the second one-two finish at a restrictor-plate race for KHI, as Tony Stewart and Burney Lamar did it at the Kissables 300 at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway in 2005.

RAINES AT DAYTONA:  Raines has made six starts on the 2.5-mile tri-oval during his NASCAR Busch Series career, starting as high as 10th (2002) and finishing as high as 10th (2005).  He has scored two top-15 finishes in Busch Series competition at the Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway.  Raines has only one start in a Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) entry at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway, which came in 2005 when he finished 10th.

RUNNING IT: The No. 33 RoadLoans.com team will unload chassis No. 021 this weekend at the Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway. This chassis was last raced at the Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway earlier this year where Tony Stewart finished second to KHI teammate Bobby Labonte.

LOOKING FOR TWO STRAIGHT: When Tony Raines jumps behind the wheel this weekend at the Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway, he will be looking for two straight top-10 finishes in the NASCAR Busch Series.  Raines last start came at the Dover (Del.) International Raceway, where he started 28th and finished eighth.

188 AND COUNTING: Tony Raines will be making his 188th career start in the NASCAR Busch Series.  He has compiled 14 top-five and 45 top-10 finishes, to go along with one pole position in 2001, at Nazareth (Pa.) Speedway.

TEAM EFFORT:  With the help of Cale Gale, Ron Fellows, Tony Raines, Tony Stewart and Kevin Harvick, KHI’s No. 33 Chevrolet has been inside the top-10 in NASCAR Busch Series (NBS) Owner’s Points standings all season long.   After 18 races the No. 33 Chevrolet currently sits fifth in the points going into the Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway.

RAINES PULLING DOUBLE-DUTY: Tony Raines will pull double-duty for the fifth time this season.  Raines will compete in the Winn-Dixie 250 Busch Series event on Friday with Kevin Harvick Inc. and the Pepsi 400 Cup Series race on Saturday with Hall of Fame Racing.
