Tony Raines No. 33 Camping World Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Dover Team Report

NASCAR Busch Series Race 14 of 35—Dover (Del.) International Speedway

CARQUEST AUTO PARTS 300 RECAP: Kevin Harvick piloted the No. 33 RoadLoans.com Chevrolet to an impressive 12th-place finish in Saturday's CARQUEST Auto Parts 300 at Lowe’s (Charlotte, N.C.) Motor Speedway.   After an unscheduled pit stop on lap 124 for a flat tire, Harvick was able to fight his way back from the 34th position, two laps down to the leader, to finish 12th.  With this great comeback, Harvick was able to keep the No. 33 Kevin Harvick Inc. Chevrolet in contention for the 2007 NASCAR Busch Series Owner’s point Championship.  The team currently sits in the seventh position, only 88 points behind the third-place car owner Jack Roush and the No. 17 Ford.
ADDING UP IN DOVER: Tony Raines has driven 5,563 miles around the one-mile oval at Dover (Del.) International Raceway. This means that Raines has driven enough miles to go from Wilmington, North Carolina to Los Angeles, California and back.
A TOTAL TEAM EFFORT:  With the help of drivers Cale Gale, Ron Fellows, Tony Raines, Tony Stewart and Kevin Harvick the No. 33 KHI Chevrolet has been inside the top-10 in the NASCAR Busch Series (NBS) Owner’s points all season long.   After thirteen races the No. 33 Chevrolet sits seventh in the NBS Owner’s point standings going into Dover (Del.) International Speedway.

CHASSIS No. 017:  The Dover 200 at Dover (Del.) International Speedway will be the third start for chassis 017.  In its two previous starts, Raines qualified 36th and finished 34th at Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway on March 17, 2007 after being hit from behind under caution by Kyle Krisiloff.  After building a new rear end, the chassis was run again last month at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway by Tony Stewart, who qualified 17th and finished seventh.

RAINES PULLING DOUBLE-DUTY: Tony Raines will pull double-duty for the third time this season.  Raines will compete in the Dover 200 Busch Series event on Saturday with Kevin Harvick Inc. and the Dover 400 Cup Series race on Sunday with Hall of Fame Racing.

LOOKING FOR THREE STRAIGHT IN DOVER:  Tony Raines will be looking for three straight top-15 finishes at Dover (Del.) International Speedway in the NASCAR Busch Series.  Raines finished sixth and 15th respectively in 2005 at Dover for Kevin Harvick Inc.

THIS RACE, ONE YEAR AGO: Ron Hornaday brought home his first top-five finish of the 2006 season, with a fifth-place finish at Dover (Del.) International Speedway in the No. 33 Kevin Harvick Inc., Chevrolet. Hornaday, who competed inside the top-10 for nearly the entire event, had a clean and incident free race. Crew chief Wally Rogers made an excellent call late in the race to keep Hornaday on the racing surface and put him in contention for the win.

Tony Raines Quotes:
ON DOVER INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY: “It’s definitely a tough track, but I think it’s one of my better tracks. I’ve had some good runs there. I enjoy it, and I enjoy Bristol. To me, Dover’s kind of like a big Bristol.”

HOW IMPORTANT IS IT TO HAVE YOUR CAR IN ONE PIECE THROUGHOUT THE 200 LAP RACE AT DOVER: “It’s no more important there than anywhere else. At Dover, it’s just so fast coming off the corners. It’s really easy to brush the wall and pancake the side of it. If you hit the front wheels you’ll knock the front end alignment out of it. It’s just a little tougher because there is less room for error. The track can get pretty narrow."

Dan Stillman Quotes:
ON CHASSIS NO. 017: “We’re bringing a car that has run a few times for us this season.  We ran it in Atlanta with Tony Raines and in Darlington with Tony Stewart.  Raines has a pretty good record in the Busch Series at Dover (Del.) International Speedway, which should make for a good day on Saturday.”
